Ralph McBryan’s do-it-yourself timber frame home in the Yukon

Ralph McBryan, a hardy northern “do it yourselfer” in Watson Lake in the Yukon, hired us to help him design his timber frame, complete with joinery details.

This was no walk in the park. Ralph’s large frame has two fully framed dormers, and the main posts are round logs.

With “raccoon like” persistence, he managed cut his way through the pile of 9×9’s, and there it is.

Watson Lake is just north of 60 degrees latitude. The group shot was taken at midnight!
