We are committed to providing our visitors with a web site that respects their privacy. Canadian law requires that we inform you of what personal information we collect, how we use it, and how we safeguard it.

I. Information Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. gathers or tracks

If you choose to buy a houseplan, Timberframe Houseplans Ltd.'s site will require your name, billing and shipping address, telephone number and e-mail address.  You will then be taken to a secure page hosted by Moneris Solutions, where you will be asked for your credit card information.  Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. does not have access to credit card information given on the Moneris-hosted payment page.

We also use analytics tracking to understand how people find our website and how they use it, in order to improve our site. The program we use is Google Analytics, and it does place a cookie, which is a tiny snippet of code, that is saved by your browser on your computer, which lets us know whether you have visited our website before or not. Google Analytics is not able to give us personal information that we could use to identify you. If you turn JavaScript off in your browser, Google Analytics will not work, but you will find that many website features on our and other websites will not work either. You can block cookies or remove them from your browser, but that will also remove functionality from many websites. Please be assured that we do not use this information to identify you, but only to understand traffic patterns on our website and to provide our customers with a better experience.

We also use Conversion Tracking for our Google AdWords campaign. If you arrive at our website via a Google Ad, AdWords will keep track of whether you bought anything from us from the website. This information is not personally identifying. We use it in order to improve our AdWords campaign and spend our advertising budget wisely.

II. Use of the information Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. gathers/tracks

The goal of Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. is to provide you with an opportunity to purchase one of our timberframe houseplans.  To sell you a houseplan, Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. will need to gather personal information. This personal information is collected for the purposes of communicating directly with you about your purchase, including any custom modifications we may make to it, and to ship you the product.  We may also use the information for product monitoring, product/service improvement and the evaluation of advertising campaigns. We never sell or redistribute personal information.

III. Information Disclosure

Unless you consent in writing thereto or unless disclosure is required by law, Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. will not disclose any personal information pertaining to you, to any party other than:

1. An agent or credit agency retained by Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. to collect any overdue amounts owed to Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. by you;
2. Administrative personnel of Timberframe Houseplans Ltd., provided that the personal information is released to such personnel solely for Timberframe Houseplans Ltd.'s internal administrative purposes;
3. Any Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. agent or contractor requiring such personal information for the sole purpose of permitting the provision to you of the Service to be provided by Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. pursuant to the terms of the Service Agreement; and
4. As may be required by any binding law or government decree.

IV. Security Against Information Loss, Theft

Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. has security measures in place to attempt to protect you against the loss, misuse and alteration of any personal information that is under our control. In all cases, your information is retained in secure facilities, protected from unauthorized access and kept only as long as is reasonably required. Only authorized employees who have a need to know your information for the purposes described in this policy have access to the information you provide.

Your credit card number, which is collected for account payment, is handled by Moneris Solutions and encrypted on their servers.  Moneris Solutions, a payment processor, is a joint investment of two of Canadas largest banking institutions, RBC Royal Bank and BMO Bank of Montreal. 

Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. is not liable for any illegal use of your personal information that is beyond our reasonable control.  We advise that after making a credit card payment, you should log out of your browser to ensure that others cannot access your personal information and correspondence, especially if you share a computer with someone else or are using a computer in a public place like a library or Internet café.

V. Privacy related complaints

If you believe that Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. has not complied with its Privacy Statement with respect to your personal information, you may write Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. at the postal or e-mail address indicated below.

In your letter please describe, in as much detail as possible, the manner in which you believe Timberframe Houseplans Ltd. has not complied with its Privacy Statement. We will investigate your complaint promptly.
